Mt. Abram

LOCAL MOUNTAIN ROOTED IN COMMUNITY AND RECREATION

Mt. Abram Ski Area & Bike Park in Greenwood Maine is a community cornerstone offering affordable and accessible year-round outdoor activities in the Mahoosuc region.

Watch our interview with Marketing Director Allie Marsten to learn more about Mt. Abram and discover how their community ties and year-round offerings truly embrace The Mahoosuc Way!

The Mahoosuc Way Principles in Action:

  • Explore Wisely: Mt. Abram is committed to providing authentic skiing and riding experience with diverse terrain suitable for all ages and abilities. During the winter, Mt. Abram grooms 42 trails and operates 4 chairlifts. In the summer, the mountain has 13 purpose-built mountain bike trails open with 2 chair lifts running. Providing purpose-built trails for skiing and biking helps reduce pressure on other private lands in the area – ensuring high quality visitor experiences and limiting environmental impacts to places with dedicated capacity to manage them.
  • Be Climate Conscious: The Main Lodge at Mt. Abram has radiant flooring, which is heated with a locally manufactured, high efficiency wood pellet boiler, providing an energy-efficient, sustainable resource that uses local wood to warm up guests taking a break from the trails. Through a grant from Efficiency Maine, Mt. Abram was able to update their snow equipment; these new machines use less water and energy while making snow for guests to enjoy.
  • Cultivate Community: Mt. Abram is dedicated to the local community and giving back – and believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the outdoors. Their Student Access Pass provides a free ski pass to every student in the school district.
Their nonprofit partners, Friends of Mt. Abram and the Mt. Abam Ski Club, provide scholarships and financial support for things such as equipment and ski lessons, allowing youth in the area to experience the joy of winter sports.
